Celebrating summer with a chameleon themed playlist
We love live. Bringing people together to share, educate, inspire is what gets us up each morning (and keeps us up late many nights)
We also like a good tune.
As our work spans culture and commerce and with our sister company, Entec, being the UK’s original event production house for the music industry we thought we’d compile a fun top 10 of songs named after our lizard namesake. We’d love to know what your favourite is. (It’s hard but no. 2 and 3 win for us).
1 – First up is 2019s Chameleon by Sandra N and Cristian Tarcea (Monoir). East European vibes backed up with Monoir’s dancey beats makes this song a perfect summer partner. Romanian Eurobeat at its finest.

2 – Next it’s time to get on the dance floor with Australian electronic trio Pnau. Don’t worry about the nonsensical lyrics just enjoy the rhythm and memorable video.

3 – Third it’s off to Malta for Michela’s Eurovision 2019 entry. We love the lyric…. “When life brings me trouble this I know, I never walk away na-na….We are technicolour watch us go, we never walk away na-na. Chama-chameleon!” One we like to sing when things get challenging…

4 – Next how about a bit of power rock? Great air guitar opportunities from LEVARA and a video featuring more than forty friends of the band singing “Chameleon,” if you look hard you will spot members of classic 80s band Toto.

5 – Maybe it’s time to get a bit more earnest at this halfway point with Marko and Elephante’s “Chameleon”. Can’t really say more than the record company’s blurb: “Mako’s heartfelt tone is admirably suited for a dance-instilled record as Elephante compliments it with a meticulously-crafted future bass reimagining.” Got that? (Me neither).

6 – OK now let’s get old school with Gary Newman’s 1982 hit “Music for Chameleons” and what looks like a pastiche of an overblown 80’s video (or maybe a homage to Bugsy Malone) but it is genuine.

7 – Fancy seeing an old animation of a dancing chameleon singing about colours. You got it! Enjoy “I am a Chameleon”.

8 – For 59 seconds of joy we love, 2016’s The Chameleon Song! Eminem eat your heart out.

9 – Hot off the press at No. 9 we feature New York singer songwriter Heather Sommer’s 2022 heartfelt “Chameleon”.

10 – And finally, we couldn’t finish our list without Culture Club’s 1983 million selling No. 1…all together now “karma, karma, karma, karma, karma chameleon.” Or as we like to say “It’s Calmer with Chameleon”. Chris, our Head of Client Development, is actually related to the co-composer of this 80’s anthem. We employed him despite this.

Apologies to Herbbie Hancock, Marillion, Talk Talk, Kutschty Rye (feat Pete Townhend) for running out of space to share their Chameleon contributions but feel free to check them out yourselves.
Wishing all our clients and partners a wonderful and well deserved summer break.
